OCR CHALLENGE

Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) is about being prepared with a broad skill-set and the strength to handle a range of obstacles and challenges, both physical and mental. Get training with the OCR Challenge then race with me and the team at the Spartan Race. Be ready to compete and excel at one of the most challenging obstacle course races Australia has to offer – Spartan Race Sprint in Picton, Sydney.

Every Saturday for the next 5 weeks we are training up for OCR. Over the 5 weeks, whether you are a novice or advanced, you will be encouraged to achieve new goals and will be challenged as each week becomes progressively harder. The program brings together the benefits of high intensity physical training with the skills required in an Obstacle Course Race (OCR). The sessions cover skill and technique refinement, hill runs at Cronulla dunes and national park trail running aimed at promoting cardio fitness and strength. Training focuses on the skills you will encounter and overcome in OCR including such things as rope climbs, traverse rope, heavy dead ball carry, sled drags and a host of others.This is a highly motivating and fun way to challenge yourself with an OCR tailored program.

Where: Shire locations including Shire PTC (Kirrawee), Cronulla Sand Dunes, (weather permitting) and Royal National Park.

When: Starts Saturday 1st April and runs for 5 weeks – see table below for details. Strictly limited number. (Friday night available on demand). With Spartan Race Sydney Sprint distance the end goal,  join the team Saturday 6th May.

Cost: First in best dressed at $100 for 5 weeks training including printed training manual, additional training ideas, certified nutritional support and coaching tips for sports performance. Leah will be hosting this series of indoor and outdoor training sessions to prep you for Spartan Race Sydney. As one of the few Certified Spartan SGX trainers in Sydney, you’ll be sure to get good insight into what to expect and be ready to tackle the obstacles. Having been selected for the first Australian team to take on the Spartan World Championships in the USA in 2013, then returning to the US in 2014, Leah developed a keen interest in OCR and has had several podium finishes including first elite female Spartan Trifecta Bright (2016),  first female Spartan Super 14km (2015), first female Spartan Ultra Best 42km (2014) and many others. This time however come race with me and the team for a fun day out in the Spartan Race Sprint Sydney!
